River Valley Area Community Gardens
A Place to Garden and Gather

Welcome to the River Valley Area Community Gardens, Inc.

We are a non-profit community garden located on the northwest side of the village of Spring Green.
The River Valley Area Community Garden operates on 2.5 acres of village property, serving the communities of
Spring Green, Lone Rock, Plain, Arena, Clyde and Bear Valley.

GROWING

Picture
We encourage people of all ages to grow their own healthy fruits & vegetables. There are 70+ garden plots of different sizes located at the gardens that are available to rent by the public. Rental fees include the provision of seeds, mulch, fertilizer, manure and garden tools. We are also available to assist as needed.

EDUCATING

Picture
We provide educational opportunities to children and adults on gardening basics, sustainable practices and organic techniques. The Busy Bees Garden Club and Junior Gardener Program are geared toward introducing gardening to students in the River Valley area. We also host instructional workshops and post a variety of educational information on our Facebook page.

SUPPORTING

Picture
We reserve space every growing season to cultivate crops to support the Spring Green Community Food Pantry and to distribute produce to area schools, nursing homes, daycares and community members.
In 2025, we donated 4,000+ lb. of produce to the community!

ENHANCING

Picture
We offer community greenspace with our park and ornamental garden area. Our border gardens are full of native, flowering perennials to support pollinators.   The park area includes a shelter and picnic area with apples and cherries provided by fruiting trees. The public is always welcome to walk through the gardens and enjoy the park.
