Garden Events

Board of Directors Meetings

Normally, the RVACG Board of Directors usually meets on the first Monday of every month, starting at 6:30 p.m., in Room 113 at Spring Green Community Church, 151 Bossard St. in Spring Green.   During the summer months, weather permitting the Board meets at the Gardens.   Additional board meetings are called as deemed necessary by the President or a majority of the Board.

Pre-Season Orientation Meeting

The 2022 Spring Registration is currently underway.  Opening day for the Gardens is set for April 30 or May 7 depending on the weather.

The Orientation Meeting serves as a time to explain garden expectations, collect plot fees, assign plots, and meet other gardeners.  If weather conditions are favorable a tour of the Garden will be offered and Gardeners may start preparing and planting in their plots immediately after the meeting.

Some guests came all the way from China "just to visit!"

Open House

Our annual Open House provides an opportunity for the public to visit the Community Garden site and meet with the RVACG Board of Directors and Gardeners.  Notice of the event is placed in The Home News and on our Facebook page.

The public is encouraged and invited to stroll through the Gardens at anytime.

Social Gatherings
A Gardener's Picnic was held in July to give gardeners, volunteers and their families an opportunity to get to know each other.  In 2021 it took the place of the Harvest Potluck.
Fun was had by all.  Around 25 people were in attendance.  The night ended with a beautiful sunset.

Work Days

Work days are held throughout the growing season to maintain common areas.   Scheduled work days are listed on the Gardeners calendar.  In 2022 work days will be scheduled on a more individual work task basis and can be done week day evenings, week days or on an individual basis according to a task list.
Work days are a great opportunity for Gardeners to get to know each other.

2022 work days to prep the Gardens for the season and for closing are being scheduled.   .
