Nature JournalingNature Journaling was initiated by John Muir Laws, a naturalist supreme, and an innovative educator, as well as a talented artist who combined his passions founding the Nature Journaling movement. He subsequently wrote The Laws Book on Nature Journaling and Drawing. about 30 years ago. The activity is now world-wide with over a million active participants. His mantra is “nature education available to all” and has developed, along with others, methods for making this accessible to all ages, walks of life, cultures and educations.
Journaling develops a concerted attention to nature and builds a relationship of curiosity, resilience and patience that can extend to other parts of our lives. As we experience some of nature’s incredible moments as well as the more subtle, journaling solidifies the memory into our minds. This is the purpose of nature journaling. |
